 By being a freemium platform, there are some services you can avail of for free, and there are some services that require a nominal fee.
 Our database is growing with educated, professional, and quality singles signing up from across the world each day. Please keep in mind that The Educated Jodi is simply an intermediary, and to that extent, understand that the platform only seeks to match people based on the details we receive.

 

Eligibility

To have an account with The Educated Jodi, you must be 18 years old and above.
 Also, make note of the following:
 — You are entering this agreement by your own choosing i.e. voluntarily.
 — You agree to all the terms and agree to be bound by them.
 — You are single/ separated.
 — You are not going to conduct any business, legal or illegal, here.
 — You cannot have duplicate accounts.
 — You have not been convicted of a felony or a criminal offense.
 — You have not been previously removed from our platform.
 — You have the right, legally, to enter into this agreement.
 — You are not signing up to steal our intellectual property.
 — You must have an account to utilize our services
 If the platform has reason to believe that you are not an eligible user, we reserve the right to terminate your account, without any prior notice.

 

Registration

(i) Profile creation

The profile can be created by you or by your parents, guardians, siblings, relatives, and friends. By creating a profile with us, we presume that this is following the consent of the person for whom the profile has been created.
 
 Your login ID and password are your responsibility.
 You cannot authorize others to use your account, and you cannot also transfer your username and password to a person or an entity.
 
 Users are expected to provide accurate, updated, and complete information along with their recent photos. While uploading photos, ensure that they are clear pictures, where your face is visible. A valid email address and a mobile number are prerequisites for the activation of a profile. You will be subjected to a lengthy questionnaire thereafter, where you have to share personal information along with your partner’s preferences. If you want to modify the information at any point, please email the support team.
 
 Video verification is also mandatory to weed out suspected users. Users are requested to upload a 5-second selfie video to avoid bots and fake profiles. Don't worry. This is not going to be displayed on your profile.

 

(ii) Company communications

We are careful not to spam our users.
 Know that you can reach out to our customer support, and we will assist you in completing your profile or addressing any other queries or concerns.
 By registering with us, you have given your consent that you do not have any objection to receiving emails or messages, or calls from our platform regarding important alerts and notifications, but not limited to matchmaking inquiries, account verifications, or any other relevant correspondence.
 The "Do Not Disturb/ National Customer Preference Register" registrations do not apply to the mobile number given by the user to the company.
 
 After downloading the app, push notifications/alerts will be automatically sent to you. Push notifications will only cease to appear if the user has changed their notification settings on their respective mobile phones.
 
 You can unsubscribe from our email, at a time of your discretion. Please email our support team stating your wish. Unless and until you no longer have an account with us or you expressly have discontinued communication from our site, it is assumed that you want to continue and solicit similar interactions.

 

(iii) Duplicate accounts

Duplicate accounts are not entertained and put the user in question, at a possibility of a permanent ban.

 

(iv) Payment

For subscriptions and paid services, you have to make payments through a Payment Gateway. For this, you will need to log in with your financial credentials through a secure network.
 Note that we shall not be held responsible under any circumstances if there is a failure during the transaction.

 

No criminal background or identity verification checks

The Educated Jodi does not conduct criminal background or identity verification checks on its users. By registering with us, on our platform, you represent and warrant that you have not been convicted of a felony or any other indictable offense.
 Acting on a user complaint or a grievance, we will conduct the screening as necessary, and you hereby authorize the platform to do so.
 Users are solely responsible for their interactions with others on the site, and we urge you to exercise good judgment.

 

Community guidelines/ User roles & responsibilities

 

(i) Accurate information

Creating a profile means that the company is privy to user details, including and not limited to email id, phone number, full name, date of birth, age, gender, ethnic background, nationality, religion, appearance, lifestyle information, location, and partner preferences. The information that you submit must be accurate, correct, and up-to-date. You can also upload copies of your ID proof such as your Aadhar card, passport, driving license, or any other government-approved document for social verification. Any additional information required by the platform, to render its services, should be provided by the user.
 You agree that you will not post any information that is fraudulent, false and misleading (directly or by omission or failure to update the information)
 One of the best ways to safeguard your profile is to create a strong password.

 

(ii) No warranty

We will not be liable for any shortcomings or misrepresentations made by any of our users. You are required to do your due diligence to verify your match's details.
 The Company cannot also guarantee the user will be satisfied with the services.
 Users must irrevocably waive any claim against the platform when it comes to the information and content on the site/ users' profiles or third-party sites.

 

(iii) Re. Commercial solicitation

Users who sign up to advertise or attempt to sell or buy goods and services to other members on this platform, and has similar commercial motive and intent, is strictly prohibited.
 You are also not allowed to transmit any chain letters, or junk or spam emails to other users.

 

(iv) Tech-related

You shall not:
 — run any mail list or spam on the website (autoresponders, included.)
 — launch or participate in any virus attack or Denial of Service (DOS.)
 — engage in activities specifically designed to manipulate and interfere with our system (cache, included.)
 — hack into the website to breach the security of the computer network.
 — transfer or store illegal content/ material.

(v) Basic Restrictions

(vi) Misuse

9. The user will be held responsible for any activity that is done under his/her account.

12. Company will take appropriate legal action and follow investigations against any user at its sole discretion if we find them violating any of our Terms or misusing the platform for their own gains.
13. We have the right to suspend or terminate your profile without any prior notice if we have reasons to believe that you are engaging in suspicious, fraudulent activities.
14. We will only allow photos that help in easy identification and which display your face clearly. We expect photos of your own or for whom you have created the profile.
15. We screen all profiles after registration, and the user has to wait till after the verification is done, to use our services.
16. Company has the right to tie up with partners for various online services. Users are encouraged to review the privacy policy of these partners, as they might differ from ours.
17. We have the right to use/ share/ retain the information as and when needed. Though user consent is naturally assumed when you create a profile with us, we explicitly seek permission in certain situations.

Content

You are solely responsible for the content you upload, post, email, and share.
 We do not control the content posted via our platform and hence do not guarantee its accuracy. However, we reserve the right to verify the authenticity of the content for quality purposes. To do this, we may ask you to submit additional documents. Failure to provide this may result in the termination of your membership.

 While you may have access to other users' content, please respect and safeguard their personal data. You are discouraged from using or copying it with vindictive or malicious intent.
 
 Please also look at the content that is prohibited on the platform. Users understand and acknowledge that prohibited content is reason enough for a possible account termination or ban from our platform.

 

Prohibited Content

Please note that users are prohibited to post, sharing, and uploading any information that:

 — is pornographic.
 — encourages discriminatory behavior and racial prejudices.

Termination

 If at any point, we are notified by other user(s) that the information in your profile is inaccurate or inadequate (photos, included), we exercise a zero-tolerance policy. We will suspend or terminate your account, depending on the severity of the offense, without any prior notice.
 You will not be entitled to any refund if you have made a payment for our subscription.
 Please note certain provisions of the Agreement will remain effective even upon termination.
 
 Termination by You.
 We will acknowledge any deletion or deactivation request. Users need to send a mail regarding this, for us to follow through with it.

 

Indemnification

By registering on our platform and using our services, you agree to indemnify, defend and hold The Educated Jodi, its entire team of partners, investors, employees, subsidiaries, officers, and affiliates fully indemnified and harmless from any loss or liability or claim, or costs or expenses, suits, and proceedings, including reasonable attorney's fees, made by a third party, coinciding with your misuse of the service or a violation of the Agreement.
 This obligation will survive in perpetuity.

Cancellation & refunds

Users who no longer need the Website's service can submit a profile deletion request form at any time. The request will be processed within five business days, after which the user's profile and account will be deleted from the website.

 The language of this agreement is English. Any translation that is available, is only for your convenience. Note that the English language version of this Agreement governs and dictates your relationship with the platform.
